Father sentenced for sucking daughter’s breast
The 38-year-old driver, Alfred Boakye was found guilty on the charge of indecent assault at the end of the trial.
An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a taxi driver to two years in prison for sucking the breast of his 13-year-old daughter and inserting his fingers into her private parts.
The 38-year-old driver, Alfred Boakye was found guilty on the charge of indecent assault at the end of the trial, the Ghana News Agency reports.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire told the Court that the victim was a class six pupil who was brought by her mother to live with her father, the convict at Ritz in Adenta.
However, Boakye took up the habit of ordering her to undress, lie down and open her legs for him to examine her, and he did this mostly on weekends.
According to the prosecution, Boakye before beginning the said examination on the girl, will suck her breast and insert his fingers into her vagina.
Boakye tried to repeat the act on June 28, 2015, around 2:00 pm after the victim had returned from church.
But this time round, she managed to push Boakye away and escaped the scene. The prosecution said the victim subsequently narrated the incident to her teacher and the case was reported to the Adenta Social Welfare and later to the Police.
A medical form was issued to the victim at the police station for her to be examined at a hospital, and Boakye was later arrested, the prosecution said.
