The father of a bride in Awutu Breku in the Central Region stormed the Kingdom Witness Chapel in the area to demand the balance of the agreed bride price demanded for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

The drama unfolded when the father of the bride disrupted the wedding ceremony and demanded that his son-in-law pay up the balance of GHc 500 that he owed as bride price.
According the Adom News reporter, Kofi Adjei, the father of the bride known as Mohammed Ali indicated that his son-in-law had also promised to get him a piece of cloth but that too had not been fulfilled.
The situation become murky when the family members of the groom stormed the auditorium to also demand that the groom call off the wedding due to the disgrace that his father-in-law was bringing upon him.

The groom indicated the family of the bride had agreed that the groom pay GHc500 of the GHc1,000 bride price that was requested. He added that he was to top up the bride price after their wedding which was seen as lavish.
Mohammed Ali, the father of the bride however indicated that he did not receive the memo to pay the balance later. He therefore went into the church to pull his daughter out of the church till the full payment was made.
The confusion caused some attendees of the wedding to start trooping out of the church. Some of the elders and pastors at the ceremony appealed to the father of the bride to allow the wedding to go on but the father of the bride remained adamant.

The bride and groom are believed to be in talks with the officiating ministers to bless the marriages because they were madly in love with each other and would not allow anyone disrupt their big day.
